Job summary

The Olympic Club in San Francisco is seeking a General Accountant to support daily, monthly, and annual accounting operations, including revenue, member billing, cash handling, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls. This role collaborates with the Senior Staff Accountant Manager, and the Director of Finance and Accounting to ensure accurate records.

Responsibilities include daily revenue audits across Golf, Tennis, Retail, Hotel, and other areas; processing member payments

Qualifications

• Knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience with member billing, cash handling, and payment processing.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and reporting tools (e.g., Sage, Northstar, Excel).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Computer Skills Required: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Intermediate knowledge of how to use a PC computer.
• English Communication Skills Required: Fluent written and oral knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Daily revenue audits across all revenue areas incl. Golf, Tennis, Retail, Hotel, and more.
• Post and track member payments (cash, checks, ACH, wire, cards).
• Monitor ACH activity and resolve returned transactions with members.
• Prepare accurate reporting for payroll from tips and service charges.
• Maintain daily receipt documentation and support billing disputes.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and monthly journal entries.
• Reconcile member payments and accounts receivable, and track depreciation.
• Prepare financial and operational reports and assist with audits.
