Job summary

The Scalo Companies are seeking a General Accountant to support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, you will maintain ledgers, reconcile accounts, and prepare financial reports with attention to accuracy and deadlines.

Strong MS Office skills and the ability to learn Sage Timberline and Timberscan are essential. This in-office role values teamwork, integrity, and protecting confidential financial information.

Qualifications

Degree in Accounting or a related field.
2 years of accounting experience preferred.
Experience with Sage 300 is preferred.

Responsibilities

Primary emphasis on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Bank Account Reconciliation, and month end close process.
General ledger, cash management
Produce Work In Progress (WIP) and Backlog reports
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
Maintenance of accounting files
Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
Provide exemplary, detail-oriented administrative support services to The Scalo Companies
Complete accounting functions through various computer programs and working heavily in the MS Office package
Ability to learn new software such as Sage Timberline, Timberscan
Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
Work in a fast-paced environment with monthly and weekly deadlines
Respond to Team Member and customer inquiries in a timely manner and with a friendly, professional demeanor in a team environment
Perform other duties as assigned

Job Summary:

The General Accountant, reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, supports the financial operations of the Scalo Companies by performing a range of accounting duties with a focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
