Position Overview:
We are seeking a General Accountant to join a high-performing Accounting & Finance team. This role offers a wide scope of responsibilities, including financial reporting, account analysis, budgeting, and special projects. In addition to core accounting duties, this role will support general accountants and lead departmental initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and process accuracy. This is a hands-on role that blends technical accounting skills with project management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead accounting projects from initiation to completion, including resource planning and timeline management.

  • Support team members on technical issues or during capacity constraints.

  • Prepare and process elements of monthly and annual financial closes, including journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements for senior leadership.

  • Conduct account and variance analysis, ensuring accurate classification and timely reporting.

  • Maintain and review audit schedules and support the external audit process.

  • Assist in budget preparation and support forecasting activities.

  • Support fixed asset tracking, cost accounting analysis, and tax filings (sales & use, property, franchise).

  • Provide financial support for international entities during month-end close.

  • Identify and implement process improvements; contribute to documentation of procedures (Work Instructions).

  • Mentor and assist general accountants as needed.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related business field.

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and the ability to handle complex accounting scenarios.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with Oracle ERP is a plus.

  • Experience in cost accounting, fixed assets, or tax accounting is beneficial.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and lead projects.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $70,000 – $103,500, depending on experience and qualifications.
