Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist to join the Gene Delivery and Editing Process Development team. You will support upstream viral vector production process development, production, and characterization, collaborating with internal and external partners on tech transfer and lifecycle management.

The role emphasizes hands-on experiments, DOE-driven design, data analysis, and clear scientific communication. Candidates should have a B.S.

Qualifications

  • B.S. with 5+ years or M.S. with 2+ years of hands-on upstream experience (downstream is a plus).
  • Ability to design experiments with DOE approaches, perform experiments, and interpret the results using statistical software (e.g. JMP).
  • Independently motivated with ability to multi-task, problem-solve, train team members on lab operations, and coordinate activities within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on experimental work in upstream development of viral vector production (mammalian culture, bioreactors, transfection).
  • Support process and technology development for viral vector manufacturing platforms.
  • Contribute to late-phase development activities including process characterization.
  • Design, plan, execute, and analyze lab experiments using DOE principles.
  • Maintain documentation of results in an Electronic Lab Notebook.
  • Summarize and present scientific data; communicate progress to project teams.
  • Author technical documents and protocols; follow safety rules.
