Job summary

Google's Rapid Innovation team in Public Sector is seeking a Software Engineer to design genAI-driven solutions for public sector customers from Reston, VA. You will prototype AI applications, validate efficacy, and showcase capabilities through customer collaboration, shaping product direction with the Product team.

Role requires deep cloud AI experience, data pipelines, leadership in customer discovery, and a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development using Python or similar coding languages.
Experience architecting AI systems on cloud platforms (e.g., GCP).
Experience building pipelines for structured and unstructured data using vector databases and RAG-like architectures to power enterprise AI solutions.
Experience leading technical discovery sessions with customers.
Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with current polygraph.

Responsibilities

Act as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding their business process and objectives.
Design and build genAI-driven solutions spanning AI, data, and infrastructure.
Demonstrate how Google Cloud is differentiated by working with customers on application prototypes and tuning models.
Build repeatable technical assets to enable customers and internal teams; work with peers to include full cloud stack into architecture.
Travel as needed; coordinate regional field enablement with leadership and product/partner organizations.
