Job summary

Google Public Sector seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer IV in Reston, VA to design and deliver production‑grade AI solutions for governmental customers. You will own end‑to‑end outcomes, connect AI products to customer environments, and lead complex integration efforts with security in mind.

The role requires deep expertise in Python, cloud AI tooling, and RIS/RAI‑native architectures, along with a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience with Python or similar.
• Experience architecting AI systems on cloud platforms (GCP).
• Experience building data pipelines using vector databases and RAG-like architectures.
• Experience leading technical discovery sessions with customers.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with current polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex AI applications and production‑grade agentic workflows.
• Connect Google AI products with customer live infrastructure and security perimeters.
• Build high‑performance evaluation pipelines and observability frameworks.
• Identify reusable patterns and convert them into product features for engineers.
• Collaborate with Customer Engineering to promote Google‑grade development practices.
