Job summary

Zoom is seeking a Research Scientist on the GenAI Science Team in Seattle to advance LLM research for Zoommate features like meeting summaries and intelligent search. The role emphasizes post-training, RLHF/RLVR, and model adaptation to improve production-ready models used in Zoom products.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build training pipelines, evaluation systems, and agentic AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in CS/AI/ML or related field.
• Publications in top AI conferences (e.g., ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, CVPR, ICCV, AAAI).
• Strong Python, PyTorch and Hugging Face Transformers skills; experience with Verl and Megatron preferred.
• Experience creating, collecting and filtering data for LLM training and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and development on large language models for Zoommate and meeting intelligence features.
• Design and implement model training pipelines including data creation, filtering and evaluation workflows.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product managers to translate research into production-ready solutions.
• Explore post-training techniques such as RLHF, RLVR and reward modeling.
• Develop evaluation systems and benchmarks for model quality and human alignment.
• Contribute to agentic AI systems with tool usage, function calls and multi-modal understanding.
