Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Feature Lead Data Engineer to build and scale data pipelines sourcing large volumes of structured and unstructured data to meet GenAI requirements. You will design, develop, and engineer a platform with high performance and scalability for GenAI use cases across markets and teams.

You will guide the team, set standards, and collaborate with Product Owners to ensure clear acceptance criteria, while mentoring junior developers and driving automation across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Experience designing & implementing multi-tier (including microservices) application platforms (FastAPI).
• Extensive experience with high performance Pub/Sub (Kafka) architecture.
• Distributed systems experience (Redis, Kubernetes, Docker).
• High coding proficiency in Python.
• Relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB) and large data processing.
• Strong communication to collaborate with stakeholders; problem-solving skills.
• Experience with data ingestion, RAG and agent frameworks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops and is accountable for feature delivery.
• Applies enterprise standards for solution design, coding and quality.
• Ensures solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt.
• Guides the team on work breakdown and execution.
• Works with the Product Owner to ensure the backlog is healthy with clear acceptance criteria.
• Plays a team lead role as an individual contributor and mentors the team.
• Guides team members with planning, estimation, peer reviews, and engineering practices.
• Identifies, prioritizes, and executes SDLC tasks.
• Leads automation efforts for end-to-end SDLC efficiency.
• Delivers software enhancements to meet global performance expectations.
