Job summary

Fractal Analytics is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist with GenAI focus to lead NLP initiatives in the New York area. You’ll develop NLP models, preprocess large text datasets, and engineer features to derive actionable insights from unstructured data.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in data science, strong Python or R skills, and hands-on experience with NLP libraries and DL frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch. Collaboration across teams and cloud/big data experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional data science experience with GenAI focus.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R.
• Expertise in NLP libraries and frameworks such as NLTK, SpaCy, or TensorFlow.
• Proficiency in machine learning techniques including supervision and unsupervised learning.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Strong understanding of text mining, information retrieval, and semantic analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and big data technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• NLP model development for text classification, sentiment analysis, entity recognition, and translation.
• Text preprocessing of large text datasets with tokenization, stemming, and lemmatization.
• Feature engineering to improve model performance and capture semantic relationships.
• Model training, fine-tuning, evaluation using precision, recall, F1, and accuracy.
• Exploratory data analysis on textual datasets to uncover patterns and trends.
• Collaborate with data engineers, software developers, and domain experts to integrate NLP solutions.
• Optimize NLP algorithms for efficiency and scalability, including distributed computing.
• Stay updated with NLP trends and apply cutting-edge techniques.
