Job summary

Dorado seeks Molecular Biology SMEs to help build foundational AI models by designing nucleic acid constructs and writing high‑quality, ground-truth training data. You will join a team that collaborates across research and engineering to identify where molecular reasoning in models breaks down and to design robust tasks and solutions.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD in a life science field, have hands‑on experience with primers, plasmids, gRNA/sgRNA, and cloning, and can commit to at least 20 hours

Qualifications

• An advanced degree, PhD strongly preferred, in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, synthetic biology, bioengineering or related life science.
• Hands-on experience designing nucleic acid constructs (primers, plasmids, gRNA/sgRNA, mRNA) with cloning strategies and codon optimization.
• Strong peer‑reviewed publication record, weighted toward first‑author work in top venues.
• Clear career progression and reliable part‑time availability (≥20 hours/week).
• Experience in AI training, model evaluation or data annotation is a plus.
• Excellent written communication and ability to explain design reasoning clearly.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with research and engineering teams to identify where molecular biology reasoning breaks down in models.
• Design domain-relevant training tasks and provide accurate solutions that become ground truth, including primers and gRNA constructs.
• Review outputs against expert solutions and give feedback on correctness and biological reasoning.
• Develop guidelines and rubrics to judge sequence design quality, covering target selection, homology arms, and codon optimization.
• Work with other SMEs to maintain consistency and accuracy in training data.
