This is a W-2 employment position placed at a leading AI Lab as part of the extended workforce. The role requires an advanced degree in molecular biology or related field, hands-on construct design experience, and a strong publication record.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree, PhD strongly preferred in molecular biology or related life science field.
  • Hands-on experience designing nucleic acid constructs (primers, plasmids, vectors) and related cloning strategies.
  • Strong peer-reviewed publication record, first-author in Nature/Nature family, Cell, eLife, NAR, PNAS, EMBO Journal.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with research and engineering teams to identify where model molecular biology reasoning breaks down and address gaps.
  • Design hard, domain-relevant tasks and write accurate, well-documented solutions for ground truth across PCR primers, plasmids, gRNA, mRNA constructs, and HDR templates.
  • Review tasks and model outputs against expert-quality solutions and provide clear written feedback on correctness and biological reasoning.
  • Draft guidelines and rubrics to judge sequence design quality including guide/target selection and codon optimization.
