Job summary

Appsierra Group is seeking a Molecular Biology Expert to evaluate and improve AI models in the training data for nucleic acid construct design. You will design challenging tasks, assess AI-generated reasoning, and provide well-documented solutions and feedback.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience in primers, plasmids, gRNA design, mRNA constructs, HDR templates, and codon optimization. This remote hourly contract role requires at least 20 hours/week and active collaboration with other SMEs.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in molecular biology or related field; PhD preferred.
• Hands-on experience designing nucleic acid constructs across multiple areas.
• Practical understanding of cloning strategies (Gibson, Golden Gate, Gateway, restriction-based).
• Experience with codon optimization.
• Strong peer-reviewed publication record, preferably first-author.
• Ability to explain technical design decisions clearly in writing.
• Demonstrated career progression in molecular biology or related field.
• Commitment to at least 20 hours per week on weekdays.
• Strong written communication and scientific reasoning skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify AI model weaknesses in molecular biology reasoning and propose improvements.
• Develop domain-relevant molecular biology tasks and accurate solutions as reference material.
• Evaluate AI outputs for scientific accuracy and rigor.
• Provide written feedback on correctness and areas for improvement.
• Develop guidelines and rubrics for sequence-design evaluation.
• Collaborate with other molecular biology SMEs to ensure consistency across data.
