Job summary

Payoneer is expanding its AI/ML capabilities and seeks a Senior Data Scientist to join as a founding member of a new ML team, building from the ground up and owning end-to-end modeling work.

You'll develop and deploy models across payments, risk, and customer analytics, establish standards, and help hire the next wave of data scientists. Hybrid, full-time role with impact on GenAI initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in ML, DS or related technical role.
• Proven track record of building and deploying ML models in production.
• GenAI/LLM evaluation experience – benchmarking datasets and monitoring.
• Strong Python and SQL; proficient in TensorFlow, PyTorch and Scikit-learn.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and MLOps.
• Technical leadership and ability to scale tech stack.
• Excellent communication and ownership mindset.
• MS in CS/AI/DS or related field; fintech experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build evaluation frameworks for GenAI and LLM agents.
• Own the full ML model lifecycle from research to production.
• Design and deploy ML models for payments, risk and analytics.
• Define core modeling methodologies, standards and practices.
• Set up feature engineering, validation, experimentation and A/B testing.
• Lead exploratory research to identify ML opportunities.
• Translate business problems into data science solutions for stakeholders.
• Mentor and interview new data scientists; shape team culture.
