Job summary

CME Group is seeking a Senior Director, Principal Enterprise Architect to lead architectural health and direction for a broad product portfolio. You will drive the shift from governance-based to enablement-driven architecture, promoting automated compliance and self-service paths for engineers.

You will influence executive-level stakeholders, scale a modern engineering culture, and focus on AI/GenAI adoption, cloud-native topologies, and stringent regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering and enterprise architecture within high-throughput, ultra-low latency environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Define Enterprise Strategy for a broad portfolio of products and shift toward cloud-native designs.
• Lead Architecture by Enablement with automated, repeatable paths for engineering teams.
• Head the Patterns Council to groom and prioritize enterprise backlogs and Paved Paths.
• Ensure reusable, cloud-native blueprints using IaC and Policy-as-Code.
• Advise on AI/GenAI, compute as an asset class, and resilient cloud architectures.
• Mentor Directors, Staff Architects, and broader engineering teams to uplift architecture competencies.
