Job summary

Bessemer Trust is seeking a GenAI Engineering Lead in Port Reading, NJ to design and ship agentic systems for our AI platform on AWS. You will stay hands-on, own technical direction, and set patterns the team follows.

You'll work with business stakeholders, evaluate new frameworks, prototype high-value ideas, and mentor engineers while collaborating with Platform, Security, and DevOps teams to deploy safely.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, incl. 2+ years leading LLM-powered systems and teams.
• Strong Python and modern engineering practice: CI/CD, testing, observability.
• Production experience with LLM-powered systems and RAG pipelines.
• Knowledge of embeddings, vector search, retrieval layers, and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic systems end to end, hands-on in codebase.
• Lead a team of developers: set direction, review designs and code, mentor engineers.
• Own the agent framework stack and research behind it; prototype and make durable calls.
• Design the context layer for reasoning: knowledge graphs, vector stores, retrieval strategies.
