Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to bridge between the GenAI delivery team and higher education/SLED clients. You will scope solutions on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, translate requirements into a delivery backlog, and manage technical risk in collaboration with an Engagement Manager.

You will lead client discovery sessions, assess feasibility, and ensure designs meet FERPA and data-privacy requirements while coordinating with engineers across GCP, Gemini, and data teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience scoping and delivering GenAI/agentic AI solutions for enterprise or institutional clients.
• Direct experience with Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform strongly preferred; ramp on Google Cloud is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with client stakeholders and translate pain points into scoped, deliverable use cases.
• Build and maintain the delivery backlog and prioritize items against timelines and commitments.
• Identify and surface data compliance and security risks early in the design process.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and the Engagement Manager to align scope and delivery.
