Qualifications

• Working towards a PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field.
• Active learning / sequential experimental design is central to guiding the next study or simulation.
• Probabilistic machine learning / Bayesian statistics to handle uncertainty.
• Surrogate modeling for prediction and simulation approximation.
• Python is required for model development and analysis; PyTorch, scikit‑learn, BoTorch, or GPyTorch are useful.

Responsibilities

• Use historical study and simulation data to evaluate uncertainty.
• Identify the next study, simulation, or measurement to reduce uncertainty.
• Optimize experimental resources to support rapid learning.
• Create a prototype work process to demonstrate success.
