Highmark Health offers the Summer 2027 Applied Gen AI/Data Scientist Graduate Internship, a hands-on program for graduate students passionate about Generative AI, LLMs, AI Agents, and emerging AI technologies in healthcare.

Interns will work with AI researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers to design, prototype, and evaluate GenAI solutions that support operations, member engagement, clinical workflows, and enterprise productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Pursuit of a graduate degree (full- or part-time) in accredited college or university.
• Proficiency in Python and programming for AI/ML workflows.

Responsabilités

• Develop GenAI-powered applications and prototypes for healthcare use cases.
• Evaluate and optimize LLM outputs for quality and safety.
• Research advanced AI techniques and healthcare-focused use cases.
• Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams on project delivery.
• Conduct experiments, document findings, and present recommendations.
• Contribute to enterprise AI strategy and innovation initiatives.
