Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking the Summer 2027 Applied Gen AI/Data Scientist Graduate Internship to work at the forefront of Generative AI within healthcare. The intern will join the AI Services and Platforms Research & Development Team to design, develop, and evaluate GenAI solutions that support members, clinicians, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in a relevant field.
• Pursuit of graduate degree full or part-time in accredited college or university.
• Strong programming skills in Python.

• Evaluate and optimize LLM outputs.
• Research advanced AI techniques.
• Design and validate healthcare-focused AI use cases.
