Highmark Health is seeking a Summer 2027 Applied Gen AI/Data Scientist Graduate Intern to explore Generative AI, LLMs, and AI Agents in healthcare. You will work with experienced researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers to design GenAI solutions that improve member and clinician experiences.

The program covers prompt engineering, RAG, orchestration, experimentation, evaluation, and solution delivery, with mentorship and exposure to enterprise AI strategy and healthcare

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; pursuing graduate degree encouraged.
• Pursuit of Master’s/PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, ML or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop GenAI-powered applications and prototypes.
• Evaluate and optimize outputs from large language models.
• Research advanced AI techniques and healthcare use cases.
• Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams; conduct experiments.
