Job summary

The Charles Schwab Corporation is seeking a Data Engineer to lead GenAI initiatives on the AI Engineering & Operations team. You will design and deploy production‑grade GenAI applications, building scalable data pipelines and reliable systems that drive data‑informed decisions and enhanced client experiences.

Responsibilities include collaboration with architects and business leaders, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering secure, high‑performing AI solutions aligned with Schwab’s innovation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience with production‑grade data pipelines across streaming and batch
• 5+ years of experience with data governance and risk frameworks including metadata management
• 5+ years building scalable data workflows interfacing with large datasets
• 3+ years designing AI components such as NLP, LLMs, or ML techniques
• 2+ years hands-on with containers and cloud‑native platforms
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (as listed)
• Strong data engineering fundamentals across the tech stack

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize GenAI applications driving measurable business impact and client experiences
• Lead robust data pipelines and prompt engineering workflows for model iteration and performance
• Champion reliability, monitoring, and observability across AI systems
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align with enterprise strategy and standards
• Mentor junior engineers and foster continuous learning
• Lead rapid iteration from concept to production and ensure system health and reliability
• Advance engineering standards with a focus on operational excellence and quality
