Job summary

RTX Sensors: Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA seeks a Software Engineer II [Embedded / Radar] to join the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar team. Onsite position located at 2000 E Imperial Hwy, El Segundo.

You will develop RT embedded software for radar modes, contribute across the software lifecycle, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. A STEM degree and 2+ years of experience, with C/C++/ADA and Real-Time OS experience, and an active Secret security clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2+ years of software development.
  • Experience coding in C, C++, ADA or related languages across the SDLC.
  • Experience with UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or Green Hills RTOS.
  • Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance required.

Responsibilities

Sensors: Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Software Engineer II [Embedded / Radar] to be part of their product development team for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group.

What you will do:
  • Work on technical problems and provide innovative solutions, with minimal guidance.
  • Contribute at all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration.
  • Develop RT embedded SW, specifically pertaining to various radar modes and capabilities.
  • Utilize investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop solutions.
  • Work with teams across multiple disciplines, internal and external.
  • Participate in program and customer meetings/reviews.
  • Support the team leads as needed regarding technical decision making, problem resolution.
  • Help to ensure performance to technical, cost, schedule, quality.
  • Support of system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis as needed.

Work Location: Onsite at our El Segundo, CA Campus.

Must be able to obtain "special access programs" (SAP/SAR) for continuation of employment.

Qualifications you must have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant software development experience.
  • Development experience coding in C, C++, ADA or related languages/tools across phases of Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks, Green Hills or other Real Time Operating Systems.
  • Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Current Top Secret Clearance
  • Experience developing Radar Software applications
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum team hyper-collaborative team environment using typical agile oriented tool suite.
  • Direct experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot tool and system operation performance issues.
  • Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars.
