RTX in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer to join the Advanced Products & Solutions mission area. The role is onsite and requires building system architecture, developing requirements, and performing analyses across the full lifecycle.

You will work with MATLAB, Python, and C++, contribute to hardware/software integration, and support verification, flight tests, and production. A DoD clearance is required, with relocation assistance available and strong growth opportunities at

Qualifications

  • Degree in STEM with radar algorithm design and requirements development.
  • 5+ years of systems engineering experience.
  • Active and transferrable DoD security clearance required before start.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle from CONOPS to verification.
  • Support development, analysis, documentation of system requirements using DOORS.
  • Radar mode algorithm development and system performance assessments.
  • Modeling, simulation, and data analysis using MATLAB and Python.
  • Laboratory testing and hardware/software integration activities.
  • Support verification, flight test, production and post-deployment activities.
  • MBSE-based system design and presenting findings to stakeholders.

oin the Advanced Products & Solutions (APS) Mission Area within the Systems Engineering Center, where we design and develop advanced radar and early-warning sensor systems that support the military around the world.

We are seeking Radar Systems Engineers who thrive in a fast paced environment, enjoy solving complex technical problems, and are eager to support innovative sensor and radar programs.

You will work alongside experienced engineers to define system architecture, develop requirements, perform analysis and modeling, and support integration, testing, and flight activities across the full product lifecycle. This role is onsite in El Segundo, CA.

What You Will Do
  • Contribute to all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle, including trade studies, development of CONOPS, system architecture, requirements definition and allocation, traceability, integration, verification, and qualification.
  • Support development, analysis, documentation, and verification of system requirements using DOORS.
  • Radar mode algorithm development and system performance assessments.
  • Conduct modeling, simulation, and data analysis using MATLAB, Python, and C++.
  • Perform daily tasks in a classified and controlled lab environment.
  • Participate in hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, and hands‑on laboratory testing.
  • Support verification, validation, flight test, production, and post-deployment activities.
  • Perform trade studies, functional/physical analyses, and MBSE-based system design.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, findings, and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travel up to 10%.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (preferably Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience in Systems Engineering with radar algorithm design, requirements development, software/hardware integration, data analysis using Matlab, and configuration management.
  • Active and transferrable final U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start.

  • Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (preferably Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics).
  • Knowledge of radar fundamentals.
  • Programming experience in Python and MATLAB.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic or system-level issues, signal processing, control theory, statistics, information theory, and detection methods, Imaging/pattern recognition, Data filtering (Kalman, batch, optimal estimation).

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
