Orchard LLC is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Engineer specializing in Gen AI and NLP to support federal government initiatives from Washington, DC or remotely. You will design GenAI-powered solutions, build NLP pipelines, and integrate AI into production data environments for impactful, mission-critical deployments.

Ideal candidates have strong Python/SQL skills and experience with cloud platforms, agile delivery, and client-facing consulting environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in AI/ML engineering, analytics, or software development.
• Experience with NLP, LLMs, or advanced analytics.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Strong problem-solving and execution abilities.
• Ability to operate in client-facing consulting environments.
• Experience supporting federal or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement GenAI-powered solutions (LLMs, embeddings, prompt orchestration).
• Develop NLP pipelines and text-based data processing systems.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into production data environments.
• Evaluate model performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Support deployment of AI solutions in mission-critical environments.
• Deliver client-facing data solutions in federal environments.
• Translate business needs into production-grade technical systems.
• Operate in Agile teams and support the full delivery lifecycle.
• Develop audit-ready documentation, SOPs, and technical artifacts.
• Contribute to internal platforms, accelerators, and innovation.
