Job summary

Synechron is seeking a Gen AI Engineer in Charlotte, NC to design and deploy AI-powered systems using Large Language Models. You will build AI-driven solutions, including chatbots and copilots, and integrate them with enterprise apps via APIs and backend frameworks.

The role requires strong Python skills, experience with OpenAI/Azure OpenAI, and familiarity with LangChain or similar tools. You will participate in a collaborative environment focused on scalable, secure AI deployments.

We are looking for a Gen AI Engineer with strong experience in building and deploying AI-driven applications leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs). The ideal candidate will work on designing intelligent solutions, integrating AI models, and delivering scalable AI-powered systems.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $100k - $105k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop Generative AI applications using LLMs (OpenAI, GPT, etc.).
• Build and implement AI-driven solutions such as chatbots, copilots, and automation tools.
• Integrate LLMs with enterprise applications using APIs and backend frameworks.
• Work with frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar tools.
• Develop and deploy scalable solutions using Python-based environments.
• Perform prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and optimization of AI models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI solutions aligned with business needs.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security of AI applications.

Requirements:

• Strong programming experience in Python.
• Hands-on experience with Gen AI / LLMs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, etc.).
• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and backend development.
• Understanding of prompt engineering and model tuning.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).
• Experience in building chatbots or AI-based automation tools.

Preferred, but not required:

• Experience with Multimodal AI (vision + text).
• Knowledge of reinforcement learning / RLHF.
• Familiarity with graph databases and knowledge graphs.
• Open-source contributions or research publications.
