Job summary

Unum is seeking a Data Scientist II to join its innovation hub, focusing on Generative AI, Python, AWS, and SQL. You will develop proof-of-concept applications, build ML and AI solutions, and partner with stakeholders to turn complex business problems into actionable insights.

You will contribute to scalable analytics, data pipelines, and production-ready models while mentoring peers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field required; Master’s preferred.
• 4+ years of professional data science experience or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Experience delivering ML/AI solutions with strong communication to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy analytical solutions using ML, optimization, and AI techniques.
• Build modeling-ready datasets from diverse sources and write complex SQL queries.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business problems into data-driven insights.
• Mentor junior data scientists and help scale solutions to production environments.
