Job summary

Magna Powertrain is seeking a Spring/Summer 2027 co-op student to join the GBX and Mechatronics Engineering team in Michigan. The role involves supporting mechanical design, BOMs, and virtual verification for gearbox sub-systems on electrified powertrain projects.

You will work Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with emphasis on drawing and 3D modeling, calculations, and requirement analysis to support engineering deliverables and change management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
• Enrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school.
• Understand basics of engineering theory and design principles.
• Working knowledge of CAD and related software for design tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support Gearbox and Mechatronics Engineering with drawing/3D model creation.
• Assist with BOMs, calculations, analysis and design requirements.
• Help maintain virtual validation plans and CAE vs test correlation activities.
• Support drawing/model creation and design reviews under guidance.
