Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Process Engineer for Gears & Shafts in Warren, MI. You will partner with manufacturing plants to address daily production challenges, drive problem-solving initiatives, and improve process performance across safety, quality, cost, throughput, and environmental metrics.

You will collaborate with manufacturing engineers, plant teams, suppliers, and leadership to develop process development and equipment strategies, building expertise toward technical leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Eng or related field.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or industrial engineering.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, quality, maintenance, suppliers and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Partner with plants to identify, prioritize, and resolve production and process challenges.
• Lead structured problem-solving activities to improve safety, quality, cost and throughput.
• Analyze data to identify process improvements and opportunities.
• Provide technical support for gear and shaft manufacturing processes.
• Drive scrap reduction, capability improvements, and uptime optimization.
