Job summary

General Motors LLC is seeking a Process Engineer for GPS Manufacturing Engineering, based at the GM Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan. You will lead assembly processes and equipment from concept through launch, collaborating across engineering, operations and suppliers.

The role requires a mechanical/manufacturing engineering degree, strong DFMA experience, and a track record of delivering complex projects. This hybrid position involves travel to GM sites and supplier locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in mechanical/manufacturing engineering.
• Understanding of manufacturing engineering on the plant floor and design for manufacturability.
• Successful delivery of mechanical/manufacturing engineering assignments solo or in teams.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional environment with engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, planning and suppliers.
• Ability to manage projects from design through installation, qualification, launch and improvement.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid arrangement at GM Global Technical Center in Warren, MI, with some travel.

Responsibilities

• Analyze product and machinery designs and apply DFMA principles to establish best methods.
• Define, propose, and evaluate process concepts and equipment for transmission and drive unit assembly.
• Lead the design, construction, installation, qualification, launch and continuous improvement of assembly equipment and tooling.
• Manage large or complex transmission and drive unit assembly equipment projects, including scope, timing, and budget.
• Provide technical direction to suppliers during implementation.
• Support prototype builds and collaborate with product engineering to refine designs, processes, tooling, and equipment for manufacturing.
• Implement production processes, test advanced process technologies, and contribute to a safe, inclusive work environment.
