Overview

Gear Machinist – Western Precision Aero, LLP, WPA located in Garden Grove, California, is a manufacturer of precision machined components and assemblies for the aerospace and industrial markets. We are currently looking for an experienced machinist with gear shape, hob, and grind experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC gear machining equipment and perform part inspection, including:
• Mitsubishi SE25A gear shaper
• Drake CNC hobber
• Reishauer gear grinder
• Other similar gear machining equipment

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in CNC gear cutting
• Experience with gear shaping, hobbing, and grinding external and internal gears to drawing requirements
• Experience with manual and CMM inspection equipment to verify gears to drawings
• Strong knowledge of setup, fixturing, gear cutting and grinding tools, feeds and speeds
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
• Experience reading blueprints, specifications, manufacturing orders, etc.
