Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Gas Power Co-op/Intern in Longmont, CO for May–August 2027. You will receive engineering training, work on design and analysis of turbine, generator, and related systems, and collaborate with drafting and manufacturing teams to solve complex problems.

Eligible majors include Aeronautical, Aerospace, Chemical, Electrical, Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science, with a minimum 3.0 GPA and US work eligibility; internships pay $21–$34 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least one remaining semester in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program
  • Eligible majors: Aeronautical, Aerospace, Chemical, Electrical, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • Receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from world-class technologists and experienced technical managers
  • Grow technical expertise and expand skills in new areas
  • Perform design and analysis of product lines in areas such as steam turbines, gas turbines, gas engines and generators
  • Develop and implement new design concepts and design improvements
  • Collaborate with drafting and manufacturing teams to solve complex production challenges

This posting is specific for interns interested in joining our Controls business.

What You Will Do
  • Receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from world-class technologists and experienced technical managers
  • Grow your technical expertise in your chosen field and expand your skills in new areas.
  • Engineering interns in Gas Power experience technically challenging assignments in the power generation industry focusing on areas such as of Systems, Analysis, Design, Quality, Reliability, Digital, and Integration & Test.
  • Perform design and analysis of product lines in areas such as steam turbine, gas turbines, gas engines and generators.
  • Develop and implement new design concepts and design improvements.
  • Work with the drafting team to create or update drawings, and partner with the manufacturing team to solve problems arising from the complex manufacturing processes required to make these parts.

  • Must have at least one remaining semester you'll be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline as listed below to be considered
  • The following majors are eligible: Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
  • Must have the ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.

Benefits Available to you:

  • Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
  • Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
  • Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services
  • GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
  • The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $34.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed
