Job summary

The role collaborates with engineering, applications, and business teams to define architecture strategies and ensure alignment with enterprise standards. Local candidates in Atlanta or Seattle are preferred for on-site work.

Qualifications

• Experience designing data architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Deep expertise with Cloud Spanner, graph databases, and data modeling.
• Strong understanding of distributed cloud data architectures and SQL.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead enterprise data architecture strategies using GCP.
• Design scalable, highly available, and secure cloud data platforms.
• Architect solutions leveraging Cloud Spanner and distributed databases.
• Design and implement graph database architectures and graph-based data models.
• Define conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Establish database architecture, schemas, data standards, and best practices.
• Evaluate technology choices and recommend database and data platform solutions.
• Design data integration, ingestion, transformation, and processing architectures.
• Develop architecture patterns for high-volume, distributed workloads.
• Partner with Data Engineers, Software Engineers, Product teams, and stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to engineering teams.
• Establish standards for data security, governance, quality, scalability and performance.
• Review technical designs for alignment with standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve data platform performance and cost efficiency.
