Job summary

Arkhya Tech. Inc. seeks an experienced GCP Data Architect to lead enterprise-scale cloud data architecture and modernization on Google Cloud Platform. You will design scalable Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Lakehouse platforms and guide data engineering and business teams.

The role requires hands-on expertise in GCP data services, data modeling, and cloud modernization, with collaboration across Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, DevOps, Security, Analytics, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and enterprise data architecture.
• Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer/Airflow.
• Strong SQL and Python skills; experience with PySpark/Spark.
• Experience with Dataplex/Data Catalog, Databricks and/or Snowflake; Kafka and CDC pipelines.
• CI/CD and Git-based development; Data Mesh or Lakehouse architectures seen as a plus.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced GCP Data Architect to design and lead enterprise-scale cloud data architecture and modernization initiatives on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with GCP data services, data architecture, data engineering, data modeling, and cloud data modernization.

The candidate will be responsible for designing scalable and secure Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Lakehouse platforms, while providing architectural guidance to data engineering and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures on GCP.
• Architect enterprise Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Lakehouse solutions.
• Design and implement data platforms using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, and Cloud Composer/Airflow.
• Lead cloud data modernization and migration initiatives from legacy/on-premises platforms to GCP.
• Define enterprise data models, data integration patterns, architecture standards, and technical roadmaps.
• Design both batch and real-time/streaming data processing architectures.
• Develop scalable ETL/ELT frameworks using SQL, Python, PySpark, Spark, and Apache Beam.
• Establish data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, security, and access-control standards.
• Optimize GCP data platforms for scalability, reliability, performance, and cost.
• Work closely with Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, DevOps, Security, Analytics, and Business teams.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform where required.

• GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer certification.
• Experience with Dataplex / Data Catalog.
• Experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake.
• Experience with Kafka and CDC pipelines.
• Experience with CI/CD and Git-based development.
• Experience with Data Mesh or modern Lakehouse architectures.
• Experience in Banking / Financial Services is a plus.

Candidate Requirements

• Immediate joiner or candidate available within 1–2 weeks strongly preferred.
• Must be willing to work hybrid from Charlotte, NC.
• Strong recent hands-on GCP Data Architecture experience is required.
• Candidates with strong enterprise data modernization experience will be highly preferred.
