Symbotic is seeking a Principal Cloud Architect to define and drive cloud architecture strategy on GCP, setting platform standards and leading the next generation of scalable, secure AI-enabled platforms. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related field.
• 12+ years designing and implementing enterprise and cloud architectures, including large-scale migrations or platform modernization you led.
• 5+ years in a Principal Architect, Lead Architect, or equivalent senior technical leadership role.
• Deep expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including GKE, IAM and VPC design, or demonstrated depth on AWS/Azure with GCP leadership.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and GitOps-driven delivery.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern enterprise cloud architecture and cloud‑native platform standards on GCP, owning the multi‑year cloud platform roadmap.
• Architect for hyperscale growth with provisioning, networking, and data architectures for hundreds to thousands of instances and petabyte-scale data.
• Lead large-scale cloud migration and modernization from strategy through production adoption.
• Build a true self‑service platform with guardrails, resource pools, and visibility controls to protect stability.
• Partner with Security to establish workload isolation, DR, and snapshot/backup capabilities for rapid recovery.
• Own cloud cost optimization and FinOps to maximize capability within budget.
• Champion AI-powered engineering and drive CI/CD, GitOps, and IaC adoption.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, run architecture reviews, and influence enterprise technology strategy.
