Job summary

Innodata is seeking a hands-on Application Support Engineer to support and enhance enterprise applications on Google App Engine and microservices. The role focuses on availability, incident response, and safe feature improvements across test, pre-production, and production environments.

The ideal candidate has 3–7 years in related roles, strong GCP experience, and proficiency in Python/Java/Node.js/Go, with emphasis on incident management and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting production applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Hands-on experience with Google App Engine deployments.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, REST/gRPC, and distributed tracing.
• Experience with CI/CD and deployment tooling.
• Proficient in Python, Java, Node.js/JavaScript, or Go.
• Experience with SQL and data stores such as Cloud SQL, Firestore/Datastore, Cloud Spanner, or BigQuery.
• Strong communication and collaboration during user-impacting incidents.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support and maintenance for enterprise applications hosted on Google App Engine.
• Serve as first point of contact for incidents: triage, diagnose, and restore service.
• Troubleshoot errors, latency, and service-to-service failures.
• Design, develop, and deliver feature enhancements to existing apps.
• Support microservices architecture, APIs/contracts, and authentication.
• Own build, release, and deployment across environments with rollback plans.
• Manage App Engine deployments including versions, traffic splits, and canaries.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement fixes.
• Build and maintain monitoring, logging, dashboards, and error reporting.
• Support platform upgrades, IAM, secrets management, and governance.
• Participate in change management, release-readiness, and on-call support.
• Collaborate with client and cross-functional teams.
