Job summary

ALS is seeking a GCMS Department Supervisor to lead the GCMS and VOA Purge & Trap operations in a high-throughput environmental lab in Washington state. You will oversee analysts, drive performance, and ensure data quality, regulatory compliance, and client turnaround times.

Ideal candidates have advanced GC-MS/GC-MS/MS and VOA expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to align quality with efficiency while managing staffing and budgeting in a production setting.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of GC-MS, GC-MS/MS, and VOA Purge & Trap instrumentation.
• Experience with EPA 8260, 624, 8270, and 625 methods.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a high-volume lab.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead GCMS/VOA department operations and staffing.
• Manage daily workflow, scheduling, and resources.
• Ensure compliance with EPA, accreditation, and client requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement and instrument uptime.
