BASIC FUNCTION

Provide administrative support to the Church Strong Team Director and GC2 Navigators.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS

  • Provide administrative support for the Church Strong Team Director, to include but not limited to:
  • Oversee scheduling of Team Director’s calendar, including scheduling appointments, maintenance of details, and communicating updates to the Team Director.
  • Organize Team Director’s workflow, including managing scheduling, meeting coordination, correspondence, documentation, and ministry-related tasks.
  • Process check requisitions, invoices, credit card bills, and travel expenses.
  • Help organize priorities, deadlines, projects, and action items across Church Strong initiatives.
  • Anticipate administrative needs and proactively address details that allow the Director to focus on ministry leadership and relationships.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing development of the GC2 Strong process.
  • Assist churches with resources, timelines, and scheduling as they move through the GC2 Learn & Pray, Assess & Reflect, Pathway Pursuit, and Celebrate stages.
  • Provide administrative support for the GC2 Navigators, to include but not limited to:
  • Order GC2 assessments and distribute to onboarding GC2 churches.
  • Coordinate assessments, resources, communications, and any follow-up associated with the GC2 Strong process.
  • Maintain organized records that help GC2 Navigators understand where churches are in the process and what support they may need.
  • Review expenditure and budget reports monthly and report to the GC2 Navigator Team Lead.
  • Process expense reports or any payments related to the GC2 Navigators.
  • Complete tasks related to the overall operations of the Church Strong Team as assigned by the Church Strong Team Administrator.
  • Serve as knowledgeable contact regarding the Church Strong Team’s purpose, goals, functions, and resources.
  • Prepare and proofread letters, memos, spreadsheets, and other correspondence accurately and timely.
  • Attend meetings and participate in training as required
  • Maintain compliance with the Baptist General Convention of Texas policies and procedures. Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Position Requirements, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

NOTE: These requirements represent minimum levels in order to perform the job on a satisfactory basis. Candidates must have the ability to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge, generally acquired through an earned associate degree in a related field. Two years or more of proven, applicable experience required.
  • Active membership in a church supportive of the BGCT during employment.
  • Commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally. Knowledge of and commitment to traditional Baptist distinctives.
  • Relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings to include but not limited to clergy, laity, institutional staff/faculty, various Baptist organizations, churches of all sizes, cultural identities and worship styles, board and council members, Baptists of Texas and beyond.
  • Proficient ability to plan, administer, and reporting budgets.
  • Ability to provide strategic and logistical planning and facilitate meetings, conferences, workshops, and retreats as required.
  • Excellent listening skills, interpersonal skills, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel to various geographic locations, including travel by car, and some overnight and/or weekend stays.
  • Proficient client management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient ability to exhibit detail-oriented skills necessary to understand and manage a wide range of information from a vast number of entities.
  • Proficient ability to speak, read, and write English. Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish is preferred.
  • Speak clearly and make yourself understood in face-to-face interactions, and articulate with accuracy on the telephone.
  • Hear and receive verbal instructions, answer phones, and proficiently communicate in situations with some background noise.
  • Concentrate on fine detail with some interruption; ability to focus attention on tasks for 45-60 minutes at a time continuously.
  • Understand and relate to the theories behind several related concepts; ability to remember verbal and written tasks/assignments from a few hours to long periods.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, churches, committees, organizations, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to multitask.
  • Professionalism in the workplace includes professional and accurate communication with others.
  • Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Excel, Google email, and internet skills. Prefer experience with Salesforce or another Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.
  • Ability to use up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
  • Work deals mostly with areas such as preparing and reading data and figures, reports, and visual inspection involving small details. Although important, depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are not as critical as the ability to distinguish small details and markings very near to the observer.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry, or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination.
