Job summary

Onterris is seeking an Analyst I for our Durham, NC lab to support multiple environmental projects. You will analyze environmental samples by Gas Chromatography‑Mass Spectrometry (GC‑MS) and prepare data for client reports, helping demonstrate regulatory compliance.

As you gain experience in QA/QC, data review, and troubleshooting, you can advance to Analyst II and beyond while maintaining rigorous records and instrument performance. Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Knowledge of analytical methods, instruments, lab safety, and general lab practices.
• Strong organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Quantitative sample analysis by GC-MS.
• Prepare data summaries for client reports.
• Instrument calibration and validation.
• Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintain organized records of samples and analyses.
• Support QA/QC and method development.
