Job summary

JBS USA is seeking a Maintenance Planner to coordinate daily maintenance activities and align with production schedules. You will assign work orders, source parts, and monitor backlog, downtime, and PM priorities to keep line uptime high.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, experience in maintenance planning or related roles, and proficiency with MS Office. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; this is an on-site position at a U.S. facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or technical training in Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in maintenance planning, maintenance clerk, parts coordinator, or administrative support role preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with maintenance, production, and vendor partners.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily maintenance work with supervisors and production teams to plan tasks.
• Assign work based on equipment availability and issue work orders to maintenance supervisors.
• Order parts for jobs not in stock and verify parts needed for each request.
• Review backlog and prioritize maintenance activities with supervisors.
• Convert requests into work orders and manage weekly PM schedules.
• Monitor downtime and adjust PM frequency on key equipment.
• Maintain daily report of critical un Scheduled work and escalate priorities.
• Foster daily communication with department heads to reprioritize as needed.

Maintenance Planner

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Work with the maintenance supervisors, maintenance leads and production supervisors on a daily basis on work that needs to get done that day, or on the weekend.
• Assigns work based on the equipment availability schedule and give the work orders to the maintenance supervisors for the tasks to be performed on that day.
• Orders parts for all jobs that we do not have the parts in stock to carry out.
• Visits every work request that crosses their desk to determine schedule, and parts needs.
• Reviews the backlog report on a daily basis and is working with the maintenance supervisors that we are prioritizing properly.
• Turns work requests into work orders.
• Run weekly printout of all pms for the upcoming week.
• Assigns pm tasks and tracks the pm work orders that are open that need to be a priority.
• Monitors the downtime report and determines if we need to look at the frequency of pm on a certain piece of equipment.
• Maintains a daily report of critical work that has yet to be scheduled.
• Visits each department head daily and goes through the open work and determines if something should be moved up on the priority list. Ex Continuous, Filter room, WWTP, Hide and then schedules said work accordingly.
• No work order to be given to a maintenance supervisor unless all parts are on hand to carry out the task.

Preferred Qualifications
