Job summary

Thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services, Inc. seeks a skilled technician to validate conformance of cut and ready-to-ship parts against customer requirements. The role emphasizes checking and calibrating precision measuring instruments, repairing gages, and certifying CMM and related equipment.

It involves ISO9001 documentation and potential training of colleagues. Shift is Monday–Friday, 2:30pm–11:00pm. Candidates should have CNC background, metric/English precision measurement, and strong teamwork

Qualifications

• This position requires hand-on experience with gage checking, repair and certification.
• CNC machining background, ability to interpret part features to gage readings and gage readings to gage features.
• Knowledge and use of surface plate layout and the ability to perform trigonometric calculations to determine dimensions that are not called out on the print.
• Certification requires precision measurement in Metric and English standards.
• Repair and troubleshooting require mechanical aptitude and ability.
• Good communication skills are essential to performing this job function.
• Above average keyboard skills and knowledge of Caterpillar computer systems (GageIt, and other PC software) will be very helpful.

Responsibilities

• This position is responsible for checking, adjusting, calibrating, certification and repair of precision measuring instruments.
• Gages are lapsed, adjusted and repaired to restore accuracy.
• Close involvement with the certification of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Super Micrometers, surface plates and allied equipment.
• Arranges for repairs with outside suppliers as needed.
• Maintains accurate records in ISO9001 process and Corporate Gage System.
• When fully qualified, trains new or fellow employees on the technical aspects of the position.
