Job summary

PSC Group is seeking a Gate Keeper to manage site access and visitor control for our facility. The role requires verifying IDs, issuing badges, coordinating with Shipping and Operations, and maintaining accurate logs of all entries and movements.

The candidate should be able to handle routine inquiries and ensure security compliance. The position emphasizes on-site duties, 8-hour rotating shifts, and adherence to company safety policies.

Qualifications

• Fluent English required for communication with visitors, drivers, and staff.
• Valid driver's license and/or TWIC may be required depending on location.
• Background check and drug screen are likely prerequisites.
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Military experience is a plus for following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, contractors, and truck drivers professionally.
• Verify ID and issue badges while recording entries/exits.
• Schedule and verify deliveries and shipments with Shipping Department.
• Direct drivers to loading/unloading areas and coordinate with Operations.
• Maintain security by restricting access to authorized personnel/vehicles.
• Answer calls and provide information or route inquiries.
• Maintain logs of visitors, deliveries, and movements.

Gate Keeper

The Gate Keeper serves as the first point of contact for all visitors, contractors, and commercial drivers entering the facility. This position is responsible for controlling site access, verifying scheduled deliveries and shipments, maintaining accurate visitor records, and coordinating with operations and shipping personnel to ensure safe and efficient movement throughout the facility.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet all visitors, contractors, and truck drivers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Verify visitor and driver identification prior to granting facility access.
• Create and issue visitor and contractor badges while maintaining accurate entry and exit records.
• Verify truck drivers are scheduled for pickups or deliveries before allowing entry onto the property.
• Notify the Shipping Department of all arriving deliveries and outbound shipment pickups.
• Communicate with Operations personnel regarding driver arrivals and coordinate truck movements throughout the facility.
• Direct drivers to the appropriate loading, unloading, or staging areas while following established traffic patterns.
• Monitor gate activity and maintain security by ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter the facility.
• Answer incoming phone calls and provide basic information or route inquiries to the appropriate department.
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation of visitors, deliveries, and truck movements.
• Follow all company safety policies, security procedures, and facility rules.
• Perform other administrative and gate control duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• May require a valid Driver’s License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
• Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams
• Speak, write, read fluent English
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
• Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus

Work Schedule:

8 Hour Rotating Shift (Days/Nights/Weekends/Holidays)
