Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. via Parsec LLC is seeking a Gate Inspector in Avon, IN to manage gate operations and ensure accurate inventory of trailers, chassis, and containers. The role requires coordination with yard staff, truck drivers, and customers, plus basic forklift operations.

The position offers a 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM schedule Tuesday through Saturday, with potential shifts during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Prior gate/inventory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with computer systems and data entry software.
• Basic knowledge of transportation and logistics operations.
• Familiarity with safety and security regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate movement of trucks and containers in and out of the facility while inspecting trailers, chassis, and containers for damage.
• Conduct inventory on all trailers, chassis, and containers in the rail yard terminal.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment to support yard operations.
• Greet and direct incoming and outgoing trucks and verify documentation.
• Record and update truck/container data in the terminal system.
• Maintain organized records of equipment, movements, and permits; generate reports on gate activity.
