Job summary

Depot Connect International is seeking a Gate Inspector to check tanks as they depart the facility, confirming correct tank IDs, documenting defects, and preventing mis-shipments. You will conduct walk-around inspections and verify tank numbers against customer work orders.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, strong attention to detail, and experience in trucking or intermodal transport. Basic computer skills and clear communication are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Strong attention to detail to perform high-quality inspections for defects and damages.
• Experience in the trucking and/or intermodal transportation industry is preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge; G-Suite familiarity is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Check tanks as they are transported into and out of the facility to note defects and damages for liability.
• Ensure correct tanks are leaving the facility for transport and act as a final quality control check before shipment.
• Conduct walk-around inspections of tanks leaving the facility to identify defects or damages before delivery to the customer.
• Compare tank numbers on customer work orders to actual tank numbers to ensure correct delivery.
• Serve as the last step in quality control and perform other duties as assigned.

Role Overview:

The Gate Inspector will inspect each and every tank that leaves the facility for defects, damages, placards, and making sure the correct tank is leaving the facility.

Position Responsibilities:

• Checking tanks as they are transported into and out of the facility to ensure that all defects and damages are noted for liability purposes
• Ensure that the correct tanks are leaving the facility for transport, and to serve as a last quality control check prior to transport to the customer
• Conduct walk-around inspections of tanks as they leave the facility to determine any defects or damages before the tank is delivered to the customer
• Compares the tank numbers on customer work orders to the actual tank numbers to ensure that the correct tank is being delivered
• Acts as the last step in the quality control process and will handle other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Experience in the trucking and/or intermodal transportation industry
• Basic computer knowledge (G-Suite knowledge preferred)
