Job summary

A global leader in tank services is seeking a Registered Cargo Tank Inspector in Gibraltar, MI. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in tank and trailer repair, a registered inspector status, and capabilities in diagnosing mechanical systems. The role includes inspecting tanks per DOT standards and may require physical lifting and working in confined spaces. Comprehensive benefits included.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of tank and/or trailer repair and inspection experience.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of air brake systems and related repairs.
• Welding experience in TIG aluminum, stainless, or carbon (optional).
• Must be a registered inspector per DOT standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards.
• Perform repairs on tank trailers.
• Work in confined spaces and handle lifting requirements.

Position Overview

We are currently searching for a Registered Cargo Tank Inspector with 5+ years of tank and/or trailer repair and inspection experience for our Gibraltar, Mi Location!

Pay

Dependent on experience. Skill‑based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.

Qualifications

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (optional)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)
• Must be a Registered Inspector

Physical Demands

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
