Job summary

Texas Endoscopy Center is hiring a Gastrointestinal Technician (GI Tech) to support surgeons during endoscopic procedures and operate essential equipment. The technician collaborates with the physician and nurse to optimize patient outcomes and is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining endoscopes and instruments.

Additional duties include managing patient flow, room prep, stocking supplies, and clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required.
• GI/endoscopy experience preferred.
• Ambulatory surgical center or surgical hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with endoscopic procedures under surgeon supervision.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain endoscopes and instruments.
• Manage patient flow and prepare the room for procedures.
• Stock supplies and handle clerical tasks.

Gastrointestinal Technician (GI Tech) at Texas Endoscopy Center

The GI Technician/Endoscopy operates under the direct supervision of a surgeon to assist with the operation of technical equipment used during both simple and complex endoscopic procedures. The physician, registered nurse, and GI technician collaborate in the procedure room to create ideal conditions for achieving positive patient outcomes. The GI technician is also responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining endoscopes and other instruments. Additional duties of the GI technician include managing patient flow, preparing the room for procedures, stocking supplies, ordering materials, and handling various clerical tasks.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous GI/endoscopy experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center or surgical hospital preferred
