Job summary

AdventHealth Medical Group West Florida Division in Riverview, FL seeks a dedicated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to join a growing Gastroenterology practice. The APRN will collaborate with gastroenterologists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in outpatient and inpatient settings.

Responsibilities include evaluating and managing GI conditions, performing histories and exams, coordinating care, and educating patients.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Florida APRN license or eligibility for licensure.
• National board certification as Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP).
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations.
• Perform consultations, follow-up visits, and routine outpatient evaluations.
• Provide inpatient GI consult support and rounding as needed.
• Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic test results.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and preventive care.
• Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services.
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record.
