Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans, LA seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver high-quality patient care across outpatient clinics. You will collaborate with residents, fellows, and staff under medical direction to provide medical management and education, including discharge planning and safety-focused care.

The role requires nursing and PA credentialing, BCLS/ACLS, and prescriptive authority eligibility, with flexibility for a 24/7 schedule; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program.
• Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice with Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner certification (ANCC/AANPCP).
• License as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice, NCCPA certification, and Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; prescriptive authority eligibility as per State Board.
• BLS/ACLS certification per American Heart Association and related prescriptive authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the approved medical practices process in the delivery of all patient care.
• Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to patient ages.
• Maintains an attitude of inquiry towards medical practices and patient care outcomes.
• Provides education experiences to patient families, staff, other health professionals, and the community.
• Adapts communication and care to the patient population and privacy expectations.
• Performs other related duties as required.
