Job summary

United Digestive is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in a gastroenterology practice. You will manage patient charts, assist with patient history, and coordinate tests and results while ensuring HIPAA compliance and smooth patient flow.

Ideal candidates have CMA/RMA certification, 2–3 years of GI clinical experience, and proficiency with EMR and Microsoft Office. Travel is rare; a team-oriented, professional demeanor is expected.

Qualifications

• Current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant, or equivalent experience required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• 2-3 years of specialty clinical experience, gastroenterology experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant must be computer literate and able to operate various healthcare systems and multiple Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitors schedule and organizes patient flow for physician office visits or in-office procedures.
• Accompanies patients to exam room, triages, collects patient history, and provides physical assessments as delegated by the physicians.
• Schedules and obtains results for testing, procedures, and other services as ordered by the physician; interprets and communicates results to physicians and patients as necessary.
• Performs or assists physician with in-office ancillary services, procedures, and specialty services.
• Manages patient charts to ensure clinical information is complete, including scanning forms into the EMR in a timely manner.
• Prepares charts in the EMR prior to the physician visit according to practice process.
