Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville, KY is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Medical Center East Gastro department, first shift 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This role supports the medical team by performing triage, vital signs, history taking, EKGs, injections, and EHR documentation.

Candidates must have a Medical Assisting certification (CMA, CCMA, or RMA) and BLS through the American Heart Association; a Medical Assisting degree is preferred. One year of experience is ideal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical assisting certification (CMA/CCMA/RMA) required.
• One year of medical assisting experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain medical history and triage patients.
• Record vitals and perform EKG.
• Administer injections and assist with exams.
• Document in EHR and coordinate with physicians.
• Schedule exams and manage referrals.
