Job summary

The VA Fargo Health Care System is seeking a Gastroenterologist to provide consults in both inpatient and outpatient settings and perform endoscopic procedures in a VA care environment.

The physician will manage disorders such as GERD, dyspepsia, IBS, pancreatobiliary conditions, and chronic liver disease, with ERCP desirable but not required, all within VA standards and Joint Commission guidelines.

Qualifications

• MD degree and full/unrestricted license to practice in the US.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Board eligibility or certification in gastroenterology (GI).

Responsibilities

• See patients in GI consults in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform endoscopic procedures (colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, EGD).
• Provide ERCP when available; otherwise refer appropriately.
• Document progress notes accurately in the EMR system.
• Contribute to safety, infection control, and quality improvement.
